Layered Scalloped Potatoes With Onion

  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1/2 cup chopped raw onion
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1 dash salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups non-fat milk

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a large casserole baking pan.
  2. 2 Place a layer of potatoes in the pan, using approximately 1/4 of the total potatoes.
  3. 3 Sprinkle the layer with 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1/2 tablespoon margarine, 1 teaspoon flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. 4 Repeat the layering process three more times to create four total layers.
  5. 5 Pour warm milk over all ingredients in the casserole dish.
  6. 6 Bake at 350°F for one hour until potatoes are tender.
