Lamb And Potato Stew With Mint And Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb meat (mutton or lamb)
  • 1 lb potatoes, cubed
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 sprig fresh mint or parsley, chopped
  • 1 pinch ground ginger
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup milk (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Place meat and sliced onion in a large pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until meat is almost tender.
  2. 2 Add potatoes, mint (or parsley), ginger, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the pot. Continue cooking until potatoes are tender.
  3. 3 If using mutton, stir in milk during the last few minutes of cooking. Allow potatoes to break down slightly to thicken the stew naturally.
