Lamb And Potato Stew With Mint And Cinnamon
Ingredients
- 1 lb meat (mutton or lamb)
- 1 lb potatoes, cubed
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 sprig fresh mint or parsley, chopped
- 1 pinch ground ginger
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup milk (optional)
Method
- 1 Place meat and sliced onion in a large pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until meat is almost tender.
- 2 Add potatoes, mint (or parsley), ginger, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the pot. Continue cooking until potatoes are tender.
- 3 If using mutton, stir in milk during the last few minutes of cooking. Allow potatoes to break down slightly to thicken the stew naturally.
