Jelly Topped Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 cup bread crumbs (without crust)
- 4 cups milk
- 4 eggs, beaten separately
- Sweet jelly
- Egg whites from the 4 eggs
- ½ cup powdered sugar
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine bread crumbs and milk in a baking dish.
- 2 Stir in the beaten egg yolks. Bake until set.
- 3 Spread sweet jelly over the warm pudding.
- 4 Beat the reserved egg whites until very light and fluffy.
- 5 Fold in powdered sugar and spread over the jelly.
- 6 Return to oven and bake until the topping is golden brown.
