Jelly Topped Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup bread crumbs (without crust)
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 eggs, beaten separately
  • Sweet jelly
  • Egg whites from the 4 eggs
  • ½ cup powdered sugar

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine bread crumbs and milk in a baking dish.
  2. 2 Stir in the beaten egg yolks. Bake until set.
  3. 3 Spread sweet jelly over the warm pudding.
  4. 4 Beat the reserved egg whites until very light and fluffy.
  5. 5 Fold in powdered sugar and spread over the jelly.
  6. 6 Return to oven and bake until the topping is golden brown.
