Inverted Green Apple Pie
Ingredients
- Green apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pie crust (enough to cover top)
Method
- 1 Place a layer of sliced apples in a pudding pan. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons flour, 6 tablespoons brown sugar, and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon.
- 2 Repeat layering until the pan is full, finishing with the dry mixture on top.
- 3 Place a pie crust on top of the apples.
- 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 40 minutes.
- 5 Run a knife around the edge to loosen, then invert onto a plate.
- 6 Serve with custard sauce.
