Inverted Green Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • Green apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pie crust (enough to cover top)

Method

  1. 1 Place a layer of sliced apples in a pudding pan. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons flour, 6 tablespoons brown sugar, and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon.
  2. 2 Repeat layering until the pan is full, finishing with the dry mixture on top.
  3. 3 Place a pie crust on top of the apples.
  4. 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 40 minutes.
  5. 5 Run a knife around the edge to loosen, then invert onto a plate.
  6. 6 Serve with custard sauce.
