Ingredients

  • Lamb meat scraps from a leg of lamb
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 4 onions
  • 4 potatoes, cut in halves
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 green pepper, chopped fine
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Pastry crust

Method

  1. 1 Place lamb scraps, diced carrot, onions, and halved potatoes in a saucepan. Cover with cold water and cook slowly until vegetables are soft.
  2. 2 Remove onions and potatoes. Thicken the remaining gravy and season with salt, pepper, chopped green pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. 3 Divide meat, potatoes, onions, and gravy among individual baking dishes.
  4. 4 Cover with pastry crust and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 20 minutes.
