Hot Milk Molasses Gingerbread Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 pint flour
- 1/2 cup sour milk
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 egg
Method
- 1 Put molasses and butter in a pan and heat on stove until mixture boils.
- 2 Remove from heat immediately and stir in soda and ginger.
- 3 Add sour milk and well-beaten egg, then add flour and beat well.
- 4 Pour into a shallow cake pan and bake in a quick oven (425°F) for 20 minutes.
