Hot Cabbage And Onion Slaw
Ingredients
- 1 small head cabbage
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon bacon fat
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Method
- 1 Chop the cabbage and onion. Heat the bacon fat in a saucepan.
- 2 Add the cabbage, onion, salt, pepper, and a little water to the pan.
- 3 Cook for about 20 minutes, then stir in the sugar and vinegar.
- 4 Serve immediately while hot and sour-sweet.
