Honey Lemon Cream Candy
Ingredients
- 1 cup strained honey
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Crisco
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Pinch cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
Method
- 1 Combine Crisco, salt, honey, cream, and sugar in a saucepan.
- 2 Heat over low heat, stirring until dissolved, then add cream of tartar.
- 3 Boil until the mixture forms a hard ball in cold water or reaches 252°F.
- 4 Remove from heat, stir in lemon extract, and pour into a greased pan.
- 5 Score into squares while warm, let cool completely, then wrap in waxed paper.
