Honey Glazed Candied Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1/4 teaspoon mace
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 boiled sweet potatoes, peeled
- 4 tablespoons water
Method
- 1 Combine honey, shortening, mace, and cinnamon in an iron frying pan.
- 2 Bring to a boil and cook until thick.
- 3 Add boiled, peeled sweet potatoes and turn frequently in the syrup.
- 4 Add water to prevent burning and cook slowly for 20 minutes.
