Homemade Raspberry Wine
Ingredients
- 1 quart raspberries
- 1 quart water
- 3 pounds lump sugar
- 1 spoonful brandy or 1 glass wine per bottle
Method
- 1 Pick over raspberries and add an equal amount of water. Bruise the fruit and let it stand for two days.
- 2 Strain off the liquid. For every gallon of liquid, add three pounds of lump sugar and stir until dissolved.
- 3 Transfer the mixture to a clean barrel or keg and let it ferment for two months.
- 4 Bottle the wine, adding a spoonful of brandy or a glass of wine to each bottle before sealing.
