Homemade Meat And Bone Stock

Ingredients

  • scraps of cooked or uncooked meat
  • bones (cooked or uncooked)
  • water (1 pint per pound of meat and bones)
  • vegetables (proportionate to first stock)

Method

  1. 1 Break up the bones.
  2. 2 Combine meat, bones, and vegetables in a pot with water (1 pint per pound of meat/bones).
  3. 3 Boil gently until all flavor and gelatin are extracted from the ingredients.
  4. 4 Strain the stock, removing all solids.
  5. 5 Set aside the strained stock for use.
