Homemade Lemon Sherbet
Ingredients
- ¾ lb granulated sugar
- 1 pint water
- 3 good-sized lemons
- Lemon peel pieces
Method
- 1 Boil sugar, water, and lemon peel pieces in an uncovered kettle for 10 minutes.
- 2 Let the syrup cool completely.
- 3 Squeeze lemons one at a time, tasting the mixture to adjust acidity.
- 4 Strain the mixture to remove solids.
- 5 Freeze in a freezer packed with salt and ice.
