Homemade Chocolate Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. 1 Stir water and sugar in a saucepan over heat until dissolved.
  2. 2 Boil the mixture for 5 minutes.
  3. 3 Mix cocoa with a small amount of cold water to make a paste, then add to the boiling sugar water.
  4. 4 Boil slowly for 10 minutes, then stir in the salt.
  5. 5 Cool completely and store in a bottle or jar in the refrigerator.
