Homemade Cherry Pie Filling
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb pitted cherries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup cold water
Method
- 1 Combine cherries, sugar, and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- 2 Reduce heat and simmer until cherries are soft.
- 3 Dissolve cornstarch in 1/2 cup cold water. Stir into the cherry mixture.
- 4 Bring back to a boil and cook for 5 minutes until thickened.
- 5 Remove from heat and let cool before using.
