Hickory Nut Candy
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract or vanilla extract
- 1 cup hickory nut meats
Method
- 1 Boil sugar and water without stirring until thick enough to spin a thread.
- 2 Place saucepan in cold water, add flavoring, and stir quickly until the mixture turns white.
- 3 Stir in the hickory nut meats and turn into a flat buttered tin.
- 4 Let cool completely, then cut into squares.
