Hickory Nut Cake With Walnut Garnish
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup chopped hickory nuts
- icing for topping
- large pieces English walnuts for garnish
Method
- 1 Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- 2 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the water.
- 3 Combine the flour and cream of tartar, then fold into the wet ingredients along with the chopped hickory nuts.
- 4 Pour batter into a prepared pan and bake at 350°F until done.
- 5 Ice the top and place large pieces of English walnuts on the icing.
