  • salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • chopped parsley
  • chopped thyme
  • good gravy or stock
  • egg, well beaten
  • butter

Method

  1. 1 Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, then pass through a sieve.
  2. 2 Season the mashed potatoes with salt, pepper, nutmeg, chopped parsley, and a little chopped thyme.
  3. 3 Moisten the mixture with some good gravy or stock and form into small balls.
  4. 4 Dip each ball in well-beaten egg and fry in butter until light brown.
