Hashed Beef On Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 lb cold meat, sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 pint water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Boiled potatoes or toasted bread slices for serving

Method

  1. 1 Chop onions finely and place in a saucepan with water, salt, and pepper. Boil for 10 minutes.
  2. 2 Add sliced cold meat and flour to the pan. Stir to combine.
  3. 3 Simmer gently for 10 minutes until heated through and thickened.
  4. 4 Serve the hash over boiled potatoes or toasted bread slices.
