Hard Sauce With Vanilla Or Brandy
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- Vanilla, wine, or brandy for flavoring
- 1 egg yolk (optional)
- 1 egg white, whipped (optional)
Method
- 1 Beat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar together until very white and light.
- 2 Flavor with vanilla, wine, or brandy. For variation, beat in 1 egg yolk or fold in 1 whipped egg white.
- 3 Let the sauce stand on ice to harden slightly before serving.
