Ham Parmesan Toasts

Ingredients

  • bread, sliced ¼ inch thick
  • butter or fat for frying
  • chopped ham
  • cream or milk
  • cayenne pepper
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Method

  1. 1 Cut bread into ¼-inch slices and use a biscuit cutter to form circles.
  2. 2 Fry or sauté the bread circles in butter or hot fat until golden.
  3. 3 Pound chopped ham into a paste and moisten with a little cream or milk.
  4. 4 Spread the ham mixture onto the fried bread circles.
  5. 5 Dust with cayenne, sprinkle with Parmesan, and bake in a hot oven (425°F) until browned.
