Ham On Toast With Orange Gravy
Ingredients
- slices of dressed ham
- thin slices of bread or French roll
- clarified butter
- cullis or good gravy
- floured butter
- juice of a Seville orange
- pepper
- salt
Method
- 1 Cut slices of dressed ham and thin slices of bread or French roll to the same shape.
- 2 Fry the bread slices in clarified butter until golden.
- 3 Heat the ham in cullis or good gravy thickened with a little floured butter.
- 4 Place the hot ham slices on the fried toast.
- 5 Squeeze Seville orange juice into the sauce, add pepper and salt, then pour over the ham.
