Ham On Toast With Orange Gravy

Ingredients

  • slices of dressed ham
  • thin slices of bread or French roll
  • clarified butter
  • cullis or good gravy
  • floured butter
  • juice of a Seville orange
  • pepper
  • salt

Method

  1. 1 Cut slices of dressed ham and thin slices of bread or French roll to the same shape.
  2. 2 Fry the bread slices in clarified butter until golden.
  3. 3 Heat the ham in cullis or good gravy thickened with a little floured butter.
  4. 4 Place the hot ham slices on the fried toast.
  5. 5 Squeeze Seville orange juice into the sauce, add pepper and salt, then pour over the ham.
