Ham And Rice Stuffed Peppers
Ingredients
- 6 sweet peppers
- 2 tbsp ham fat or butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- dash of pepper
- 1 1/2 cups steamed rice
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped boiled ham
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 tsp celery salt
- milk, as needed
Method
- 1 Wash peppers, cut off tops near the stem, and remove pulp and seeds. Wash thoroughly to remove loose seeds.
- 2 Melt fat or butter in a pan. Add onion, salt, and pepper; heat for several minutes.
- 3 Stir in rice, bread crumbs, ham, parsley, and celery salt. Add milk gradually until the mixture holds together.
- 4 Fill peppers with the stuffing mixture and place in a shallow pan with a small amount of water.
- 5 Bake until peppers are soft enough to be pierced with a fork. Serve hot.
