Ham And Egg Cheese Sauce Toast
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped ham (including some fat)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 2 hard-boiled eggs, separated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 round slices of toast
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Method
- 1 Chop the ham finely. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 2 Stir in flour to make a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
- 3 Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 4 Stir in the chopped ham, mashed egg whites, salt, and pepper.
- 5 Pour the mixture over toasted bread on a hot platter.
- 6 Grate the reserved egg yolks over the top and garnish with parsley.
