Ground Beef Taco Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 cups lettuce, torn into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped
  • 16 ounces green pepper, chopped
  • 1 pound ground turkey or ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can (15.5 ounces) pinto beans, low-sodium, drained
  • 3/4 cup salsa or taco sauce

Method

  1. 1 Wash hands and place torn lettuce in a large bowl. Add chopped tomatoes and green pepper.
  2. 2 Brown the ground meat and chopped onion in a frying pan. Drain off fat and liquid.
  3. 3 Mix the cooked meat, drained beans, and salsa in a separate bowl.
  4. 4 Add the meat mixture to the salad bowl and toss to combine. Serve with additional salsa.
