Grilled Mutton Kabob With Turmeric Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 slice mutton, tender and not sinewy
  • 1 slice ginger, steeped overnight
  • 1 slice onion
  • 1 silver skewer
  • 1 cup rice
  • ½ cup split peas
  • Turmeric for coloring
  • Plain gravy

Method

  1. 1 Steep the ginger slice overnight to soften it for slicing.
  2. 2 Thread the mutton, ginger, and onion slices alternately onto the silver skewer.
  3. 3 Place the skewered meat in a stewpan with a little plain gravy.
  4. 4 Boil the rice and split peas together with turmeric until thoroughly cooked.
  5. 5 Serve the kabob with the rice and peas, either separately or together.
