Green Tea Berry Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 3 cups water
- 8 single-serving bags green tea
- 3 cups frozen mixed berries (16 ounces)
- 2 medium bananas, peeled, cut in half, and frozen
- 1 cup fat-free plain Greek yogurt
- 2 teaspoons fresh grated peeled gingerroot (optional)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 teaspoons chia or flax seeds (optional)
Method
- 1 Bring 3 cups water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and steep for 4 minutes. Discard bags.
- 2 Let tea cool for 30 minutes, then refrigerate in a pitcher for 2 hours until chilled.
- 3 In a blender, combine chilled tea, frozen berries, frozen bananas, yogurt, ginger, and vanilla. Process until smooth.
- 4 Pour into four glasses and sprinkle with chia or flax seeds before serving.
