Grated Turnip And Carrot Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 cups grated turnip
- 1 cup grated carrot
- 2 thinly sliced green onions
- vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (for dipping sauce)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar
- 2 thinly sliced green onions (for dipping sauce)
Method
- 1 In a large bowl, whisk flour, pepper, egg, minced garlic, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and water until smooth.
- 2 Stir in grated turnip, grated carrot, and 2 sliced green onions to form a thick batter.
- 3 Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup batter per pancake and flatten with a fork.
- 4 Cook until edges are dry and bottom is golden, about 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook until crispy and cooked through.
- 5 Whisk 2 tbsp soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and sliced green onions for the dipping sauce. Serve warm.
