Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 cups grated turnip
  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 2 thinly sliced green onions
  • vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (for dipping sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 thinly sliced green onions (for dipping sauce)

Method

  1. 1 In a large bowl, whisk flour, pepper, egg, minced garlic, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and water until smooth.
  2. 2 Stir in grated turnip, grated carrot, and 2 sliced green onions to form a thick batter.
  3. 3 Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup batter per pancake and flatten with a fork.
  4. 4 Cook until edges are dry and bottom is golden, about 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook until crispy and cooked through.
