Grated Lemon Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 loaf bread, grated
- 1 cup boiling milk
- Grated peel of 2 lemons
- ½ cup butter, beaten to a cream
- Powdered sugar to sweeten
- 3 eggs, well-beaten
Method
- 1 Grate half a loaf of bread and pour 1 cup of boiling milk over it. Allow the mixture to cool.
- 2 Stir in the grated peel of 2 lemons, ½ cup of butter beaten to a cream, powdered sugar to taste, and 3 well-beaten eggs.
- 3 Pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish or small buttered cups.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 20 minutes. Serve hot with any preferred sauce.
