Grated Lemon Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf bread, grated
  • 1 cup boiling milk
  • Grated peel of 2 lemons
  • ½ cup butter, beaten to a cream
  • Powdered sugar to sweeten
  • 3 eggs, well-beaten

Method

  1. 1 Grate half a loaf of bread and pour 1 cup of boiling milk over it. Allow the mixture to cool.
  2. 2 Stir in the grated peel of 2 lemons, ½ cup of butter beaten to a cream, powdered sugar to taste, and 3 well-beaten eggs.
  3. 3 Pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish or small buttered cups.
  4. 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 20 minutes. Serve hot with any preferred sauce.
