Gooseberry Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 quart gooseberries
  • ½ lb moist sugar
  • ½ pint water
  • 1 pint milk or cream

Method

  1. 1 Remove tops and stalks from gooseberries.
  2. 2 Boil gooseberries with sugar and water until soft.
  3. 3 Rub the cooked mixture through a fine sieve.
  4. 4 Gradually mix in milk or cream.
  5. 5 Serve on a glass dish.
