Glazed Yeast Teacakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 oz butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 oz German yeast
Method
- 1 Rub butter into flour in a basin.
- 2 Blend tepid milk with yeast, then strain into flour.
- 3 Add egg and beat all ingredients together for a few minutes.
- 4 Knead lightly, divide dough into two balls, and place in floured cake tins.
- 5 Let rise in a warm place for one hour.
- 6 Bake for 20 minutes, then brush with sugar and water syrup to glaze.
