Glazed Buttermilk Scones
Ingredients
- 4 cups sifted flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
Method
- 1 Rub the butter into the flour. Add the sugar and salt and mix well.
- 2 Stir the baking soda into the buttermilk, then mix with the flour until combined.
- 3 Roll the dough into a thin sheet and cut into triangles.
- 4 Bake on a floured tin for 35 minutes.
- 5 Just before done, brush tops with milk using a cloth and return to oven to glaze.
