Gingerbread Orange Nuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup treacle
  • 2 tbsp brandy
  • 6 oz coarse brown sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups flour
  • ½ oz ground ginger
  • Finely grated orange peel
  • Candied orange, to taste

Method

  1. 1 Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. 2 Stir in treacle, brandy, and brown sugar until warm and combined.
  3. 3 Remove from heat and mix in flour, ginger, orange peel, and candied orange.
  4. 4 Drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet to form small cakes or nuts.
  5. 5 Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes until set.
