Ginger Preserved Apples

Ingredients

  • Apples, peeled and chopped
  • Water
  • Green ginger, scraped and tied in a bag
  • Sugar (1/2 lb per 1 lb fruit)

Method

  1. 1 Peel apples, chop them, and place in a pot with water and a bag of scraped green ginger.
  2. 2 Boil for one hour, then remove the ginger bag.
  3. 3 Add sugar (half a pound for every pound of fruit) and cook for one hour longer.
