Ginger Poached Pears
Ingredients
- 1 lb pears
- 1 lb sugar
- ½ cup water
- Green ginger or lemon peel
Method
- 1 Peel and core the pears, leaving the stems intact.
- 2 Combine sugar, water, and ginger or lemon peel in a pot.
- 3 Add pears to the syrup and simmer until tender.
- 4 Boil the syrup for 30 minutes after the pears are cooked.
