German Spaetzle Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
Method
- 1 Add milk to flour slowly, stirring constantly to keep the mixture smooth.
- 2 Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in salt.
- 3 Bring a pot of salted water or meat broth to a boil.
- 4 Hold a shallow bowl over the boiling liquid and tilt it to pour the batter.
- 5 Use a sharp knife to slice off pieces of batter directly into the liquid.
- 6 Dip the knife in the liquid before each cut to prevent sticking. Cook until done.
