Fruitcake With Raisins And Currants
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 ¾ cup new milk
- ¾ cup yeast
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup raisins, stoned and cut
- ½ cup currants
- 1 grated nutmeg
- ¼ cup rose brandy
Method
- 1 Mix flour with enough milk and yeast to form a thick batter. Let it rise until light.
- 2 Beat butter, sugar, and eggs together until creamy.
- 3 Fold the butter mixture into the risen batter along with raisins, currants, nutmeg, and brandy.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 2 hours.
