Fruit Gelatin Ice
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons gelatin
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 pint fruit juice (e.g., strawberries, cherries, currants, grape juice, or peaches)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 quart water
Method
- 1 Soak gelatin in cold water for 30 minutes, then melt in a hot-water bath.
- 2 Strain the melted gelatin and stir in the fruit juice.
- 3 Combine sugar and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
- 4 Add the gelatin and fruit juice mixture to the syrup, then cool completely.
- 5 Freeze the mixture according to your ice cream maker's instructions.
