Fruit Charlotte Russe
Ingredients
- Assorted fruit (any kind)
- Butter (for soaking bread and rubbing dish)
- Bread slices
- Powdered sugar
Method
- 1 Stew your chosen fruit and season to taste.
- 2 Soak bread slices in melted butter.
- 3 Rub a dish with butter, then line the bottom and sides with the buttered bread slices.
- 4 Fill the bread-lined dish with the stewed fruit and top with remaining buttered bread slices.
- 5 Bake for a few minutes, then carefully turn out onto a serving dish.
- 6 Sprinkle with powdered sugar and glaze with a salamander broiler.
