Ingredients

  • Assorted fruit (any kind)
  • Butter (for soaking bread and rubbing dish)
  • Bread slices
  • Powdered sugar

Method

  1. 1 Stew your chosen fruit and season to taste.
  2. 2 Soak bread slices in melted butter.
  3. 3 Rub a dish with butter, then line the bottom and sides with the buttered bread slices.
  4. 4 Fill the bread-lined dish with the stewed fruit and top with remaining buttered bread slices.
  5. 5 Bake for a few minutes, then carefully turn out onto a serving dish.
  6. 6 Sprinkle with powdered sugar and glaze with a salamander broiler.
