Fruit And Butter Roll
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- milk
- softened butter
- chopped fresh or preserved fruit or berries
- sugar
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- 2 Rub in 2 tbsp butter and add enough milk to make a rollable dough.
- 3 Roll dough into a thin oblong. Spread with softened butter.
- 4 Sprinkle with chopped fruit or berries sweetened to taste.
- 5 Roll up the dough and pinch ends together.
- 6 Steam for 2 hours or bake until brown and crisp. Serve hot.
