Frozen Ladyfinger Fruit Mold
Ingredients
- 1 cup candied fruit, cut into pieces
- Sugar and water for hot syrup
- 1 quart heavy cream
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- Flavoring of choice
- Ladyfingers for lining mold
- Salt and ice for freezing
- Boiled custard or whipped cream for serving
Method
- 1 Soak candied fruit in hot sugar syrup until softened, then drain.
- 2 Whip cream with sugar and flavoring until stiff peaks form.
- 3 Line a 2-quart mold with ladyfingers, crust side down.
- 4 Layer the mold with cream and soaked fruit, ending with cream.
- 5 Cover mold, pack in salt and ice, and freeze for 2 hours.
- 6 Unmold and serve with boiled custard or whipped cream.
