Fried Vegetable Pockets
Ingredients
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Heavy cream
- Cooked vegetables (e.g., cold potatoes)
- Mustard, vinegar, or strong boiled sauce for seasoning
- Oil or fat for frying
Method
- 1 Whisk the beaten egg with rice flour, salt, pepper, and enough cream to form a thin batter.
- 2 Roll the batter thinly on a surface and cut into rounds.
- 3 Place a spoonful of highly seasoned cooked vegetables (like mustard potatoes) on one half of each round.
- 4 Fold the paste over the filling, press edges to seal, and fry in hot fat until golden.
