Fried Soft Shell Crabs With Tartare Sauce
Ingredients
- soft-shell crabs
- flour
- beaten egg
- fine breadcrumbs
- hot fat for frying
- tartare sauce
Method
- 1 Clean the crabs by removing the apron, spongy gills, and entrails. Wash and drain well.
- 2 Roll the crabs in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat in fine breadcrumbs.
- 3 Fry in hot fat until golden brown.
- 4 Place in a hot oven (425°F) for ten minutes to finish cooking.
- 5 Serve with tartare sauce.
