Fried Smelt Rings
Ingredients
- Smelts
- Salt and pepper
- Egg
- Bread or cracker crumbs
Method
- 1 Wash, dry, and sprinkle smelts with salt and pepper.
- 2 Dip smelts in egg, then roll in bread or cracker crumbs.
- 3 Pin head and tail together with a skewer to form rings.
- 4 Fry in batches until cooked through.
- 5 Remove skewers, serve on a napkin with Mayonnaise or Tartare sauce.
