Fried Sage Potato Onion Fritters
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cup mashed potatoes
- ½ lb breadcrumbs
- 1 large English onion
- 2 eggs
- 1 oz butter
- 1 tsp powdered sage
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- salt and pepper to taste
- flour for dredging
Method
- 1 Chop the onion finely and fry it in the butter until brown.
- 2 Whip the eggs and mix with the breadcrumbs, fried onion, mashed potatoes, sage, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- 3 Form the mixture into fritters and dredge them in flour.
- 4 Fry the fritters in oil until golden brown.
- 5 Serve with vegetables, potatoes, and sauce.
