Fried Parmesan Cheese Puffs

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 scant tablespoons heavy cream
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Chopped vermicelli for coating
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. 1 Mix Parmesan cheese, cream, cayenne, and salt in a bowl until smooth.
  2. 2 Cut puff pastry into rounds, spread cheese mixture on half, fold over, and seal edges.
  3. 3 Dip pastries in beaten egg, then coat with chopped vermicelli.
  4. 4 Fry in hot oil until golden brown and serve immediately while hot.
