  • 4 tablespoons sifted flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 egg whites, well beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Warm water, as needed
  • Oysters
  • Salt and white pepper or paprika
  • Lemon slices

Method

  1. 1 Mix flour, oil, beaten egg whites, salt, and enough warm water to form a drop batter.
  2. 2 Sprinkle oysters with salt and white pepper or paprika.
  3. 3 Dip oysters in batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  4. 4 Drain and serve on a hot platter with lemon slices.
