Fried Oysters With Cracker Crumbs
Ingredients
- Oysters, drained
- Cracker crumbs
- Egg, beaten with a little milk
- Salt
- Pepper
Method
- 1 Drain the oysters thoroughly.
- 2 Roll each oyster in cracker crumbs, then in egg mixed with milk and seasoned with salt and pepper, and finally back in the cracker crumbs to ensure the coating adheres.
- 3 Place the coated oysters in a wire basket and immerse them in smoking hot fat until they turn a light-amber color.
- 4 Drain immediately and serve hot.
