Fried Fish Cutlets

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flaked cold fish
  • 1 ½ cups prepared stale bread
  • 2 onions, grated
  • 4 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon mustard
  • 1 well-beaten egg
  • Flour for coating
  • Fine bread crumbs for coating
  • Hot fat for frying

Method

  1. 1 Soak stale bread in warm water until soft, then squeeze dry and rub through a colander to remove lumps.
  2. 2 In a mixing bowl, combine the prepared bread, flaked fish, grated onions, parsley, salt, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and beaten egg.
  3. 3 Mix the ingredients thoroughly and shape the mixture into cutlets.
  4. 4 Roll each cutlet in flour, dip in beaten egg, and then coat in fine bread crumbs.
  5. 5 Fry the cutlets in hot fat until golden brown.
