Fried Fish Cutlets
Ingredients
- 2 cups flaked cold fish
- 1 ½ cups prepared stale bread
- 2 onions, grated
- 4 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon mustard
- 1 well-beaten egg
- Flour for coating
- Fine bread crumbs for coating
- Hot fat for frying
Method
- 1 Soak stale bread in warm water until soft, then squeeze dry and rub through a colander to remove lumps.
- 2 In a mixing bowl, combine the prepared bread, flaked fish, grated onions, parsley, salt, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and beaten egg.
- 3 Mix the ingredients thoroughly and shape the mixture into cutlets.
- 4 Roll each cutlet in flour, dip in beaten egg, and then coat in fine bread crumbs.
- 5 Fry the cutlets in hot fat until golden brown.
