Fried Crab Stuffed Shells
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup crab meat
- 1 tablespoon grated onion
- 1 tablespoon finely minced parsley
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon mustard
- flour for dusting
- beaten egg
- fine bread crumbs
- hot fat for frying
Method
- 1 Whisk flour into milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook for 5 minutes to create a cream sauce.
- 2 Stir in crab meat, onion, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, paprika, and mustard. Mix thoroughly.
- 3 Fill crab shells slightly above the rim with the mixture. Dust lightly with flour, brush with beaten egg, and coat with bread crumbs.
- 4 Fry in hot fat until golden brown. Serve immediately or reheat later.
