Fried Crab Stuffed Shells

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup crab meat
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon mustard
  • flour for dusting
  • beaten egg
  • fine bread crumbs
  • hot fat for frying

Method

  1. 1 Whisk flour into milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook for 5 minutes to create a cream sauce.
  2. 2 Stir in crab meat, onion, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, paprika, and mustard. Mix thoroughly.
  3. 3 Fill crab shells slightly above the rim with the mixture. Dust lightly with flour, brush with beaten egg, and coat with bread crumbs.
  4. 4 Fry in hot fat until golden brown. Serve immediately or reheat later.
