Fried Cornmeal Breadsticks

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups boiling water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup cornmeal
  • flour for rolling
  • hot fat for frying

Method

  1. 1 Combine boiling water, salt, and cornmeal in a saucepan. Stir thoroughly and cook for 20 minutes, then cool.
  2. 2 Form the mixture into sticks the size of breadsticks.
  3. 3 Roll the sticks in flour and brown them in hot fat.
