Fried Cornmeal Breadsticks
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups boiling water
- 1 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup cornmeal
- flour for rolling
- hot fat for frying
Method
- 1 Combine boiling water, salt, and cornmeal in a saucepan. Stir thoroughly and cook for 20 minutes, then cool.
- 2 Form the mixture into sticks the size of breadsticks.
- 3 Roll the sticks in flour and brown them in hot fat.
